I apologise to everyone. I haven't been around for a while but I'm back. And to prove it i have a few tutorials going online in the next couple of days.
I have been very busy with my business Milly Molly Cards so i have SADLY neglected my blog.
In fact i have sadly neglected alot of things but im getting back on track and have plenty of tales to share.

Well everyone i have made up my first set of cards that i hope to sell. All comments are welcome even the really bad ones. What do you think, do you think they will sell.

This is my basics range. You can have your own personalised message printed on the front of the card. (hows that for a sales pitch)

They are not for sale yet but i would love to hear from you if you would like to buy one or two of them. AND I would certainly love to hear from you if you want to buy the whole lot.

All cards can be adapted easily for invitations to parties. But don't worry bulk discount available

My personal favourite is the ballerina outfit. What is yours.

Tiger Card Demo if any one is interested

Free Tiger card tutorial and pattern if anyone is interested in making kids cards. It might be a good card to send to the keike charity.

It is also easy for kids to make. so it should come in handy for those long six weeks ahead of us all.

Clutter Nutter

I have just attempted to make my very first clutter card. What a refreshing change. It has the same annoying detailed cutting as decoupage yet the end result looks much more pleasing. I have another one to do but my darling daughter has hid the draws. Now she is desperate to peel erything back off the card. What do you think of my first attempt.

Will definatly be doing mre in the future but need a rest from all the cutting out.

Sorry i havent posted lately but you will probably be happy to know that i have survived Friday 13th unharmed. now if only i could say the same about Thursday 12th.
Thursday i was going to post you some new cards that i have made but my computer took a disliking to them and wouldnt let me online. What was suppose to be an early night for me turned into an early morning. Eventually gave up trying to fix the computer and went to bed only to disturb my daughter who is teething. Eventually got to bed 4.00am before getting woke up at 6.00. not to worry because as soon as i turned the computer on everything was back to normal. TYPICAL

Later on too day i am going to post some of those cards. and perhaps a template or tutorial or something to fill your weekend.

New Blog - for tutorial purposes only

It has arrived the new blog is up and running and i have included the new tutorial for the quilled flower card.

There will also be patterns for cross stitch, paper embroidery, quilling, and perhaps a tutorial or two going on next week so keep coming back and looking.

This blog is still going so keep popping back here and i plan on posting some of my cards and other bits and pieces here too.

Somebody was after sending me some of her cards to show me then that is great perhaps i can post some of them up on the blogs for inspiration to others.
maybes just emailing me a picture might be best as i am shoulder deep in cards at the moment.

But i would really like to see what others are making.

Have you any queries about supplies as i am always happy to help.

Cards for charities.

I have found this brilliant charity for all you card making addicts. Keiki cards.

its basically a non profit charity that asks people to make handmade cards that they send to seriously ill children.

They ask that you dont make get well soon cards for obvious reason but a nice cheery message would be nice.

You send them your finished card and they pass them onto the children. Its a nice way of letting them know that there are people thinking of them.

I personally think this is a great idea. and i am currently making cards for them as we speak.

first tutorial - rubber stamping

After everyone begging me to show you all how to make my cards i have decided to do a tutorial. (OK so one person, and they asked not begged)

WHAT YOU NEED

the stamp is from the whispers range which is available from docrafts.co.uk
the black pen is a permanent thin marker pen
The ink i am using is not water proof (so couldnt use watercolours etc to colour in the image.)

The blue and yellow paper on the bottom is glitter paper, and the yellow patterned paper and blue textured paper i printed off free of charge from canons printable site

The plain paper is good old printer paper.

Oh and you will also need a card blank any colour, size and shape will do really.

STEP ONE

Place double sided tape around the edges of the front of the card.

Stick blue printed paper onto the right hand side of the card blank.

Tear one side of the yellow printed paper

Then stick this onto the left hand side of the card blank

Cut around the edge of the card blank to remove the waste paper.

STEP TWO

Stamp your image onto a sheet of white paper and cut it out into a rectangle.

Stick this image onto the yellow glitter paper, then cut around that, mount that onto the plain white paper and cut around that. so you are building up the layers framing the stamped image.

Finally mount it onto the blue glitter paper and cut around this.

Stick this using double sided tape onto the center of the card blank.

You can now colour the leaves of the flower. I have applied chalks using a make up applicator. just dabbing the colour on carefully and blowing off the excess. You could use colouring pencils if you wish.

STEP THREE

The messy part. throughout step three it is worth checking regullarly that your fingers arnt coverd in ink. If you follow these instructions properly and in this exact order you shouldnt have any problems with smudged ink. trust me i know ive had to restart this card three times already.

Stamp the bottom half of the design onto the blue sparkly paper. careful not to touch ink

Now go over the stamped image with your black perminant marker.

and cut it out carefully.

Do exactly the same with yellow glittery paper. Only this time you will need to stamp the top half of the image. and cut out the centre of the flower.

Stick double sided pads on to the stamped image on the card blank. this is to give the card a 3D effect.

Then Finally

Stick the cut out pieces in place.

WELL WHAT DO YOU THINK.

I might make this a monthly thing if there is enough interest.

Thought I would show you what I can do

I started crafting a long long time ago now.

Starting mostly with needlework, embroidery, cross stitch, black work, etc.

I then progressed onto stamping. It is so much faster than sewing and you can achieve some great effects. I'm actually in the middle of designing my own range of stamps to use in a collection of cards i hope to sell later on in the year.

Ill let you have a sneak preview later on when i have got them made up.

Any way next will be my Iris folding, teabag folding. i must remember to find some examples of these cards to show you.

And now it is Quilling, my favourite. Quilling can be so simple and relaxing to do. I haven't long been doing this but i have certainly made up for it. My house is littered with coils of paper

I do a large range of cards, trying out as many different techniques, and materials as possible.

I also do cards for Goths.

In fact i will do cards for anyone, in any language, with any message, in any style, using any of the above techniques.

So now that you have got an idea of what i can do lets see what you think of my cards.

What a way to start a blog two scary kids and now a monster. Sorry for scaring you but i thought it would be polite to introduce myself face to face so to speak.

Well here i am. Amanda the crazy single mum of two looking to create her fortune in a new business adventure. yep another one who thinks she can make money from handmade greeting cards. we crazy card makers need to find the money somehow to feed our addiction.

Any way this blog is going to turn into my personal diary where i will keep you posted on anything and everything that happens on my journey into Milly Molly Cards. (my business name, do you like it)
